Choices, Choices

As some of you may or may not know I have applied for full time teaching positions and actually been offered jobs and excepted, but I have turned them down. The thing about teaching is its not simply a 7-3:30 job. You have to plan lessons, grade papers, input grades, plan for activities etc. As I was preparing, I found that a lot of time was being taken a way from Liliana, so for now I am content working part time. Here is a list of why I like working part time:

More time spent with Liliana
I still receive a paycheck
I will not have to explain a large gap in my resume
Its a low stress job- the responsibility is on someone else shoulder to complete grading, lesson plans etc.
I am able to keep up with changes in the field of education.

Positives to working Full time
More Money
Health Benefits
Retirement Plan
Providing more for Liliana financially

As you can see its a hard decision to make, but I have never wanted Liliana growing up at the baby sitters. I believe that working part time allows me the best of both worlds. We are still able to meet her needs, and I am able to spend more time with her to watch her grow, and learn. I am grateful for understanding and supportive husband who understands how important it is for me to spend more time with my daughter.

good for you!! I think that is probabley going to be the hardest thing for me is to go back to work if I ever have too!!! I enjoy being able to work from home and seeing my little girls grow and learn. Yeah babysitting isn't the greatest at times but it keeps me home and still brings in money!!!!
