Tot School Week 6

Tot School
Liliana is 22 months old

We started off the week by having a friend over with her children. I brought out the paint and craft items and let the kids create.

Liliana truly enjoys the fill and spill bottle. Check out the Aday family for more on this activity.

We made this Toddler Shake that was found on this website. It was eaay and fun!

This week we also worked on fine motor tasks, by placing pasta into a container with holes. The container I used was a Parmesan cheese Container. Any sized container would work though Find out more about this activty fom Rocker Tot

Another activity was Chalk indoors on balack paper. Liliana loves to draw and color! She had so much fun.

She also played with this toy. I love leap frog educational games and videos. Liliana watched this video which helped her learn the sounds! Liliana loves to sing along with the alphabet song on the fridge magnets! The fridge magnets are also a great fine motor activity.

Remember the leprechaun man posted about here. Liliana and I have been watering it and this is what it looks like now :)

Lastly we completed this Valcano from No Time for Flashcards. Liliana enjoyed shaking up the ingredients and then said "Wow!" as it was exploding!

Showcase Saturday

This week I am participating in Showcase Saturday presented by Ramblings of a Cray woman Please check out her blog for many great and wonderful craft ideas!
Here are a few things we have done over the last two weeks:
We planted grass seeds for our leprechaun and this is what it looks like
Before:

After: Liliana now loves to play with the grass! I am sure we will try to give it a haircut soon!

Another project was chalk art! Liliana loves to use chalk, so I thought it would be fun for her to use paper and chalk, these were our results:

One of my favorites was mess free painting! This project was completed by placing paints in a Ziploc and allowing Liliana to play! For older kids this is a great way to teach colors!

Lastly we created a sheep! Liliana loved playing in the cotton. I simply printed the sheep off from here and allowed Liliana to glue on the cotton balls!

Another funny moment

Today after work Liliana and I went for a walk. The weather was beautiful and she was so happy exploring the world around her. As we walked she saw a large round stone, she pointed to it and said "ball", she then proceed to try to pick it up. So I think she has overgeneralized that all round things are balls! Too Cute!

Tot school Week 5

Tot School
~Liliana is 22 months old~
This week was another great week in Tot school! It is so much fun to interact with Liliana and just watch her learn and play! I LOVE IT!
We started of the week by coloring and playing with our I spy folder. I got the idea from Chasing Cheerios.

We also got to play out side a lot. Liliana enjoys playing with chalk, her ball and playing chase.

I had purchased Easter Eggs at the dollar tree and Liliana enjoyed opening them all.

Liliana is fasinated by animals so I thought we could complete this simple craft project of putting cotton balls on a outline of sheep. The sheep outline can be found here. I was amazed at how well Liliana was able to use a glue stick!

Liliana loves to read books. She will go to the book case and get one at a time. She loves to sit at the computer chair.

One day we did mess free painting, found here I placed paint in a sandwich bag and she got to play with it. This was a great activity while I made dinner.

We were able to do bubble art one night before best, this activity is done best outside, but we did it indoors. The idea was found on this blog.

Yesterday we played with beans. Thanks rocker Tot for the idea! This was one of Liliana's favorite, she did it over and over again!

Our last activity of the week was the B is for Bean Poster. I printed the worksheet off from childcareland and used the pom pom book layout.

Kids say the cutest things

Today I had to go to the doctor with my dad, Liliana and my mom came along as well. As we were siting in the waiting room, Liliana began to play with another little boy. He had a ball and was nice enough to share. When it was Liliana's turn with the ball, she opened her legs wide (like the football players do) and said hike. It was really the cutest thing in the world. It would make her daddy proud.

1st Ice cream cone

So Liliana had her first ice cream cone this weekend. After going to the children's museum we headed to the wharf for dinner and then we went exploring around Monterrey. We found the shops and Del Pines(cute Little area) and decided to get some ice cream and take it back to the hotel. She enjoyed every lick of the ice cream but threw away the cone lol!

Monterey Bay Aquarium

This weekend we also visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Liliana had a great time seeing all the fish. Here two favorite exhibits where the huge deep sea life tank and the simulation of the waves. The aquarium also had a lot of interactive exhibits for the kids and quite a few play areas for them. It has changed some since we last went. Liliana even got to see nature in action as two peginuans were mating. Here are a few pictures of our adventure:Liliana's favorite tank
